Pierpaolo Petrassi MW, Head of Beer, Wine, Spirits and Tobacco at Waitrose

Pierpaolo Petrassi MW has spent his entire career in drinks retailing and wholesaling, celebrating 30 years in the industry this year. He has worked for the Carnevale Group, International Wine Services, Waverley TBS and Tesco. His experience spans all areas of the trade from suppliers to retailers and has now been with Waitrose since 2010, leading the multi-award winning Waitrose buying team.

Born in London of Italian parents, Pierpaolo followed his father into the wine industry in 1983. An expert in Italian wine, he has worked with and lecturing on Italian wine throughout his career. In 2007 he became the first Italian Master of Wine.

Pierpaolo is a panellist at the ‘UK – Re-booting a mature market’ business session.
