In 2010 Josh moved to DC to take over the family business at Schneider's of Capitol Hill. One of the oldest fine wine shops in the DC area, it was founded in 1949 by Josh's great-grandfather, Max Schneider. A neighbourhood institution, Schneider's offers more than 12,000 different wine selections.
Although Josh grew up surrounded by wine, with strong family influences, Josh truly developed his passion for wine when he moved to New York in 2006. He started working in the wine importing business and took classes at the International WIne Centre. Following that, he spent time in Spain, learning about grape growing and wine making there.
