For the Weemala Pinot Gris, we pick the grapes at two ripeness levels and treat these separately in the winery so at the final blending stage we have two distinct components. One is a pinot grigio style wine, which involves early harvest and provides structure and focus. The other is picked to be more in the pinot gris style, involving a riper harvest which brings extra fruit and nutty flavours as well as texture to the finished wine.
The resulting blend of the two parcels becomes Weemala Pinot Gris which packs a punch with vibrant aromas of fresh pear, orange and honeysuckle, flavours of white peach and nougat before a long citrus finish. Styled half way between a grigio and a gris, this wine has vibrancy and texture, length and flavour.
