The Logan Shiraz is representative of our winemaking philosophy which is to attempt to match bright Aussie primary fruit characters with a savouriness, structure and finesse more commonly found in Old World wines. The style is not Old World as the primary fruit character is very much Australian, but the light to medium bodied style with restrained oak influence, strong acid backbone and savoury elements is also certainly not the broad perception of what is an ‘Aussie shiraz’.
The Logan Shiraz displays the soft mid-palate fruit flavours Australian wine has become famous for, complemented by savoury complexity and a structure and length quite European. It starts with major fruit, but underneath it has lovely subtle earth and spice. In this wine, you will find flavours of red berries, plums, spices (white pepper, star anise, tarragon, bay and cinnamon) and a deep meaty, beef/vegetable stock character on a velvety palate before a very long finish.
RRP (AUD): $25
