Oliver's Taranga Vineyards, McLaren Vale, South Australia
In 1839 William and Elizabeth Oliver traveled to South Australia from Scotland and settled at McLaren Vale in 1841 on land which they named “Taranga”, meaning “middle” in the language of the local Kaurna people. Today the fifth- and sixth-generation descendants of the Oliver family produce ultra-premium age-worthy wines that reflect the unique character of the Taranga Vineyard in McLaren Vale, combining the latest winemaking tools and techniques with the sense of family, history and tradition that comes with over 170 years of local knowledge.
