John Mitchell and family established Montalto in 1998, but the core of the vineyard goes back to 1986. Key varieties are Chardonnay and Pinot Noir with a strong emphasis also on Pinot Grigio/Gris and cool climate Shiraz. 5 carefully selected vineyard sites across the Mornington Peninsula span the extremes of climatic conditions and are nurtured to create wines that are expressive of their site and place.
